Francesco Scognamiglio AW2012-13

This collection leaves me feeling conflicted. There are moments that really please me but there are also moments that leave me disappointed. The Monochrome shirts for example have been seen a lot in New York, London and now Milan during the past weeks on the runways, however i've also been seeing them in high street stores since before the new year. Is this forward fashion or are we stuck in a monochrome loop? Albeit the latter images are featuring some sort of monochrome shirts, I think they work well as compositions. Two of the shirts have a slight wild west feeling to them, and the print that Scognamiglio has used takes the shirts out of the standard monochrome loop.

I've also had somewhat of a pull towards retro styled shirts and fabrics recently, and so I do love the metallic green trousers with the shirts.

Looking at the garments at the beginning of the collection we have a different feeling. It is strong, it is contemporary and the oversized coats are beautiful. I also admire the leather skirts with the raw edges and just a flash of the legs as the model walks down the runway.

There are some looks within collection that almost hold it back from progressing forward, however there are also looks and garments that balance the collection out to being forward thinking and contemporary. The fabrics are there, and the silhouettes are partially there, but i think the collection needs just a few more tweaks for it to be one of my favourites from Milan this season.

Thomas Tait AW2012-13

I really like the oversized jackets in this collection and the flat shapes within the garments. I want to know what fabrics some of the garments are made of. They appear to be made of leather, but it also looks like they are in thin panels. Perhaps they have had lines laser cut into the leather, does anyone know?

I recommend looking at the rest of the collection because there are so many gorgeous fabrics in it. In particular the green velvet is divine!

Tait has a talent for beautiful pattern cutting and I keep being drawn back to the oversized jackets with their rounded necks and those stunning leather capri trousers.

I'm very much looking forward to seeing which directions Tait will take next.

Dans La Vie AW 2012-13

oooooo the print designs! They are amazing. They are so fun and flirty, but with such an edge to them.
They remind me of a film, but I can't remember which. Or perhaps they are an ensemble of a few films in my mind.

I love the ideas the designer RiRi presents and what they represent. There are quite a few pieces from her S/S12 collection and this collection that I'm eyeing up for my wardrobe!

Tim Weiland AW 2012-2013

I really like the youthfulness of this collection,  I feel as though my inner teen has been re-released(it happens every time I listen to Nirvana).
However I feel that there could be something more contemporary in this collection. I'm seeing styles that are in quite a few UK shops at the moment.
But it doesn't stop me from loving this collection a lot.
They've chosen their colour palette and fabrics with care.
And the two tone shirt is fantastic.

check out their website. It's divine.

Tess Giberson AW 2012 - 2013

I love the contrasting fabrics used within this collection. The silk is so fluid in movement.
The knit reminds me of Tallulah Christodoulou, especially the first knitted piece in this collection.

I really like how She has mixed simplistic shapes with gorgeous fabrics to create a collection that is stunning.

Kimberly ovitz - AW12-13

Again, Another designer who has shown at NYFW who has blown me away. I love her use of leather, colour palette and textiles.
I particularly like the oversized coat with the hood, and the double layered blazer.
Definitely only my wish list. I can't wait to get up close to the garments!

Richard Chai Love AW 2012-2013

And so Fashion Week has begun, well month. Starting with New York.

I've not heard of Richard Chai Love before today and I am very glad I have found his work. I love the oversized coats clinched in at the waist with a belt, and I especially love the look in the menswear. His use of colours, especially the grey at the beginning of the collection works really well.
Check out the bags. I'm obsessed with rucksacks at the moment and it's lovely to see his take on them.

This evening, I shall be looking at previous work from Richard Chai Love. It's great seeing this fashion coming out of New York as I'm usually less inclined to watch New York fashion week.
